چکیده

• Capillary tubes & SAW devices used to pattern particles in no-flow flowing setups Rectangular tube: particle lines are parallel tube sidewalls for all directions Circular alignment depends on their position along the height Bottom/mid height: parallel/perpendicular direction Continues flow: always flow Acoustofluidic platforms have great potentials integrate capillary controlling and manipulating microparticles biological cells both non-flowing continuous-flow settings. In order effectively manipulate microparticles/cells inside tubes, it is essential fully understand control patterns generated with different cross-sections, investigate influences of configuration arrangement electrodes tubes. This paper aims systematically patterning glass using thin film surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices. Through experimental studies numerical modelling, effects various cross-section geometries positioning respect interdigital transducers (IDTs) device a stationary fluid continuous were studied. Results showed that rectangular patterned tube's side walls, irrelevant positions IDTs, which mainly caused by standing field tube. Whereas circular quite height. At bottom tube, into direction, because waves propagate water form at middle perpendicular formed also around direction. For cases liquid flow, under agitation waves, enhances smoothens particles.

Tunable nanowire patterning using standing surface acoustic waves.

Patterning of nanowires in a controllable, tunable manner is important for the fabrication of functional nanodevices. Here we present a simple approach for tunable nanowire patterning using standing surface acoustic waves (SSAW). This technique allows for the construction of large-scale nanowire arrays with well-controlled patterning geometry and spacing within 5 s. In this approach, SSAWs were...

Acoustic tweezers: patterning cells and microparticles using standing surface acoustic waves (SSAW).

Here we present an active patterning technique named "acoustic tweezers" that utilizes standing surface acoustic wave (SSAW) to manipulate and pattern cells and microparticles. This technique is capable of patterning cells and microparticles regardless of shape, size, charge or polarity. Its power intensity, approximately 5x10(5) times lower than that of optical tweezers, compares favorably wit...

Tunable patterning of microparticles and cells using standing surface acoustic waves.

We have developed an acoustic-based tunable patterning technique by which microparticles or cells can be arranged into reconfigurable patterns in microfluidic channels. In our approach, we use pairs of slanted-finger interdigital transducers (SFITs) to generate a tunable standing surface acoustic wave field, which in turn patterns microparticles or cells in one- or two-dimensional arrays inside...

Aligning Nanowires by Standing Surface Acoustic Waves

We present a standing surface acoustic wave (SSAW) based approach to achieve one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) alignment of nanowires (NWs). Our SSAW-based nanowire-aligning technique can be used to construct large-scale (e.g., centimeter scale) network of nanowires within 5 min. In this approach, we use interdigital transducers deposited on a piezoelectric substrate to generate dif...

Cell separation using tilted-angle standing surface acoustic waves.

Separation of cells is a critical process for studying cell properties, disease diagnostics, and therapeutics. Cell sorting by acoustic waves offers a means to separate cells on the basis of their size and physical properties in a label-free, contactless, and biocompatible manner. The separation sensitivity and efficiency of currently available acoustic-based approaches, however, are limited, t...
